SEEPEX AD and TRAKEN TECH have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

As a basis for future strategic cooperation, Serbian power exchange SEEPEX AD and Belgrade-based deep tech company TRAKEN TECH have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The aim of this partnership is to cooperate in research, development, innovation and piloting activities to improve the existing electricity market environment by using new digital technologies with the focus on Blockchain and Web3 technologies.

Following the EU action plan of the energy system digitalization, which among other things aims to improve energy efficiency, decarbonization, electrification, sector integration and decentralization of the energy system, the signees of this MoU intend to address these challenges by developing comprehensive and flexible infrastructure that will benefit the overall electricity market.  

The key enabler for a digitalized energy system is availability and accessibility of energy-related data based on seamless and secure data transfers among trusted parties. In this sense, blockchain technology could be introduced as a most convenient platform for efficient digitalization and decentralization of the power system.

This MoU is intended to:

  • Aggregation and market utilization of Decentralized Energy Resources (small-scale RES and flexible DSR facilities)
  • Flexibility market research, development, and innovation (RDI) activities
  • Improve the process of issuing, trading, disclosure and cancellation of the Guarantees of Origin
  • Joint participation in the EU RDI programs
  • Promote both parties as innovative and advanced technology companies
  • Design of innovative financial models based on decentralized finance for improving the liquidity and enhancing overall electricity market framework

The Partners see this MoU as an important milestone in the further development of their respective businesses through close cooperation and synergy focused on planned research and innovation activities.
